Roberta E. Winchell
Roberta E. Winchell, a Bangor native, attended local schools. She received a Master’s Degree in Business from Husson College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Maine School of Law.
Her practice includes Divorce and Family Law, Employment Law, Wills, Trusts, Probate and Estate Planning, Business and Corporate Law, and Civil and Criminal representation. In addition, Roberta provides training and consultation on a wide variety of employment issues to businesses throughout the State of Maine.
She is active in community activities. Roberta is a member of the Maine State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, Penobscot County Bar Association and the John Waldo Ballou American Inn of Courts. She has been honored by the Maine State Bar Association as a Katahdin Counsel honoree for her pro bono legal work. Roberta is also a member of the G. Pierce Webber Society on Philanthropy and recently created an Endowment Fund to support children. She is past president of the Bangor Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. Her current memberships include Eastern Maine Medical Center Advisory Board, Acadia Hospital Advisory Board, Eastern Maine Community College Foundation Board, and Tuesday Forum and New Hope Hospice Board of Directors.
Her past memberships include Junior League of Bangor, Ronald McDonald House Board of Directors, Past Chair of the Salvation Army Board of Directors, Zonta, a women’s professional organization and the Bangor Museum and Center for History Board of Directors.
She collaborates with each client to resolve their legal needs. Roberta Is proud to be a lifelong member of the community in which she practices and serves her clients.
In addition to her many achievements Key Bank appointed Roberta to its national Key4Women Advisory Board for the years 2009,2010 and 2011. She was the first woman from the State of Maine to be elected to this National Board and only the second woman from New England to be appointed.
In May 2009 Key Bank awarded attorney Roberta Winchell with its first annual Key4Women Achieve Award. The Achieve Award is given to a women entrepreneur who successfully executes her business vision; contributes meaningfully to the community; and shows a strong willingness to serve as a model and resource to other women entrepreneurs.
As a successful attorney, Roberta has been a true mentor to many new women business owners In the Bangor area. Through her work as an attorney, she has helped put many women business owners in the Bangor area on the path towards achieving their dreams.
Jackie is a native of Bangor, Maine. She has been a legal assistant with Winchell Law & Associates since 2010 and previously worked for another local attorney for eighteen years. Jackie has over twenty years’ experience in the field.
